Getting started with Alef
Set up your project, review your first AI answer, and leave with one evidence-backed next step.
One connected marketing workflow
Alef is an agentic marketing platform for search, AI visibility, content, and technical improvements. Start with one question: “Does our brand appear in the answers our customers see?” This guide takes you from project setup to the evidence behind an answer.
Before you start
- Have your website domain, brand name, primary market, language, and a few customer questions ready.
- Sign in to your Alef workspace. If you cannot access the project or its settings, ask the workspace owner to review your role.
- GSC and GA4 are only needed for their connected search and traffic views, not to read a collected AI answer. Connect only properties you are authorized to use.
Your first useful result
- 1
Confirm your project
Complete the website and brand steps during onboarding. In the dashboard, use the workspace switcher to check the active brand and domain before starting work.

The active project matches the website you want to analyze.
- 2
Review your brand context
Open Knowledge Base in the sidebar. Review Profile, Competitors, Target Audiences, and Preferences. Correct imported facts before using them in analysis or content.

Your brand facts, audience, and competitors describe this project, not another client.

Choose questions to track
Open Prompts. Review existing questions or use Generate prompts and review the suggestions before confirming. Keep questions relevant to your customers, market, and language.

The questions you want to monitor are tracked, not only proposed.

Inspect a collected answer
Open Analytics → Answer Engine Insights. Choose a period and available engine, then open a prompt with collected results. Read the answer and its cited URLs instead of relying on the score alone.

Choose one next action
Open AI Marketer and describe the gap, period, and evidence you found. Ask for an explanation or a content brief, then review the proposal before creating or publishing anything.

Read the result carefully
- A mention means your brand appears in the answer; a citation references a source URL. Check both separately.
- Compare like with like: the same questions, engines, markets, and equivalent periods. One answer is evidence from one run, not a permanent ranking.
If you do not see results yet
- Check the active project, date range, engine, and tracked questions. An empty view is not proof of zero visibility.
- Review any collection or generation status shown in the workspace. Processing time depends on the task and connected services; do not assume an immediate result.
- For traffic views, confirm the GSC or GA4 connection and selected property. If an error persists, contact support with the affected view, time, and non-sensitive error details, never credentials.
Understand SEO, AEO, and GEO
- SEO: improve the accessibility, usefulness, and discoverability of your website in search engines.
- AEO: make your content clear and useful for direct answers and answer engines.
- GEO: help generative search experiences understand, represent, and cite your brand. It does not mean geographic targeting.
Keep judgment in the workflow
Review AI-generated recommendations and content before acting on them. Connected services, permissions, and available models depend on your configuration. Alef helps you measure and improve; it does not guarantee rankings, citations, or revenue.
